I started writing my memoir when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. I really felt the need to tell our true love story.  I had kept our initial emails from before we met because we found each other through an internet personals ad.  I used those emails, saved letters from my husband’s time away from us while in the military, and narration to describe our story.

It is the true story of a quiet, divorced woman who falls in love with a man that has already led an adventurous life and travelled the world. It includes our online courtship, meeting, falling in love, marriage, and starting a family.  I hope that readers will enjoy the romance, but they may also gain insight into our daily struggles by reading about our day to day lives during the time that my husband was a Border Patrol Agent and we lived on the Arizona border with Mexico, as well as our time as a military family and his deployment to Afghanistan.

I have always wanted to be a writer.  I have had many careers and roles in this life so far, but that dream of writing hadn’t been pursued or realized until now.  I hope to continue to write fiction after this memoir is published.  I am so blessed to have this opportunity and I am definitely going to take advantage of it now.  In this blog, I hope to give my future memoir readers a glimpse into our lives, as well as the writing process for me.
